Occupational Therapy

Health First NQ offers paediatric Occupational Therapy services for children and young adults aged 0-25 years both in a clinical and community setting. Occupational Therapists help young people to learn and develop skills to be able to participate, enjoy and engage in everyday activities. Health First NQ Occupational Therapists can help provide support in the following areas:
  • Motor skills: Fine and gross motor
  • Sensory Processing, behavioural and emotional regulation
  • Daily living skills/routines
  • Play skills
  • Social skill development and building healthy relationships
  • School readiness skills/engagement
  • Education
  • Mental health support

We aim to provide individualised support to young people and their families in the environment which suits them best, using therapy approaches that are flexible, fun and engaging.
